Be Ready
Disaster Preparedness Background
The owner of Be Ready Hawaii, Al Cabacungan, is a native born Hawaiian and has been in disaster preparedness for over 20 years. He opened his first store in Oceanside, CA during that time. 18 years ago after Hurricane Iniki struck the islands of Hawaii, Al and his family brought disaster preparedness supplies to the people of Hawaii. He has been CERT trained and operated an Evacuation Center during the fires in southern California in October 2007. He also offered assistance during the Northridge earthquake in Los Angeles in 1994. His dream of coming back to Oahu and offer his people education, experience, and high quality products has finally come to fruition as his opening day is on February 1st, with a ribbon cutting at 10:00 am. Their store offers water storage and filtration products, food storage supplies, 72-hour kits, solar power generators, first aid supplies, cooking units, tools, and other essential items for disaster preparedness. Be Ready Inc, and Be Ready Hawaii has developed an educational website www.learntobeready.com. Throughout the months to come Be Ready will offer free seminars to businesses, schools, and church groups. If you are interested in a private seminar contact Chris Chauncey at 760-637-1229. Through our educational website you can take advantage of training videos, checklists and educational materials, and free webinars.
We have joined the Chamber as a means to develop relationships within the community. Being a new business offering the services and products that we offer can be expanded most effectively through the network of contacts available through the Chamber. We can accomplish in months what it would take a business to accomplish in years without the connection of the Chamber. We look forward to getting to know the members and work hand-in-hand as the community prepares for and overcomes the disasters that are certain to come our way.
